AT&amp;T Turbo improves wireless data connectivity on the AT&amp;T network. It allows you to upgrade your high-speed (premium) and hotspot data allotments to performance data.&nbsp;

If you&rsquo;re an existing AT&amp;T Wireless customer with a 5G-capable phone and a compatible plan&mdash;AT&amp;T Unlimited Premium&reg; PL, AT&amp;T Unlimited Extra&reg; EL plans, or certain AT&amp;T Unlimited Elite&reg; plans&mdash;you can easily <a href="https://attdashboard.wireless.att.com/softsimsheet/boost/ses#/landing" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">add AT&amp;T Turbo</a> to your plan and start using it within 15 minutes.&nbsp;&nbsp;

If you&rsquo;re not an AT&amp;T Wireless customer, you&rsquo;ll need to switch to AT&amp;T to start using Turbo.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

You can choose to bring your own 5G-capable phone, or shop for the<a href="/buy/phones/browse/5g/" target="_self"> latest 5G devices</a>. Choose between two eligible plans: AT&amp;T Unlimited Premium&reg; PL or AT&amp;T Unlimited Extra&reg; EL, and be sure to check the AT&amp;T Turbo box in the additional features section.&nbsp;

AT&amp;T Turbo allows customers to optimize their plan&rsquo;s high-speed (premium) and hotspot data allotments by upgrading it to performance data, which helps the performance of their data connection, even during busy times on the network. &nbsp;During peak network congestion, AT&amp;T Turbo performance benefits may not be noticeable. &nbsp;AT&amp;T Turbo does not provide extra data and does not apply to messaging or voice. &nbsp;If you exceed your existing allotments your normal network management applies.

 
On AT&amp;T Unlimited Extra&reg; EL after 75GB, AT&amp;T may temporarily slow data speeds if the network is busy. &nbsp;

 
On each eligible plan, after you exceed your hotspot allotment, your hotspot speeds are slowed to a maximum of 128Kbps.

The AT&amp;T Turbo add-on costs $7/month per line and is a service that you can add to any eligible AT&amp;T Wireless plan line with a 5G-capable smartphone.

You can purchase AT&amp;T Turbo if your line has a 5G-capable smartphone and one of these eligible plans:

Yes, the Video Management of your rate plan still applies and applies automatically. We strive to render streaming video in standard-definition (SD), with a max speed of 2Mbps. For Unlimited Extra&reg; EL plans with only SD streaming, the Video Management feature stays on. For the other eligible plans, you default to SD streaming and to experience higher definition streaming, or if you have any issues, you can turn it off online any time. &nbsp;&nbsp;

 
With Video Management on, other content bundled by content providers with streaming video may be impacted and slowed. This includes content such as video downloads, filters, lenses, and catalogs. <a href="/support/article/wireless/KM1169198/" target="_self">Learn more</a>

The AT&amp;T Turbo icon is an alpha tag that is displayed in the top left corner of your device on the lock screen, indicating that your line is subscribed to AT&amp;T Turbo. It will also be visible on the draw down screen on your device. This is a new feature for AT&amp;T Turbo being rolled out in phases to customers, so the AT&amp;T Turbo Alpha Tag may not be visible yet.&nbsp; In some circumstances, the AT&amp;T Turbo icon will show even when AT&amp;T Turbo is inactive, such as when on Wi-Fi or when your high-speed hotspot allotment is exceeded.

As a reminder, AT&amp;T Turbo does not work when roaming, on Wi-Fi, or when you exceed your high-speed data allotments. Additionally, your plan&rsquo;s other management policies and restrictions, including your Video Management feature, will continue to apply when subscribed to AT&amp;T Turbo.
